Latham and Watkins, LLP

"...the responsibility to advocate for equal justice and provide representation to individuals of limited means is intrinsic to law practice."

As one of the world’s largest pro bono legal services providers, Latham and Watkins believes that the unique ability and responsibility to advocate for equal justice and provide representation to groups and individuals of limited means is intrinsic to law practice.

Each year, Latham lawyers and professional staff take on matters in nearly every area of public interest law, including anti-human trafficking, asylum and immigration, children’s rights, civil rights, criminal justice, domestic violence, prisoners’ rights, public benefits, veterans’ rights, and voting rights.

We are privileged to work in partnership with extraordinary public interest and legal services organizations that make our work possible. The attorneys and staff of Latham & Watkins continue to give generously of their time to help low-income area residents referred. Also, Latham graciously donates space, technical support, and refreshments for various events in support of pro bono efforts. Well, outside their day-to-day areas of the law, Latham’s employees have devoted time to learning new areas of the law, as well as how poverty impacts working with legal aid clients. Of her experience as a pro bono client with Latham, one client said, “Meeting with the Latham and Watkins team was an awesome experience! They treated me like royalty and even insisted on preparing documents I didn’t even think I needed.”
